Elise's first day of preschool

It was not my intention for her to look "challenged" or like she was going to catholic school but somehow I failed in both departments. She is not very photogenic so I was hoping to catch some candids of her in her classroom but we had tearful end to her first day. Don't worry, it wasn't because she missed me-she just didn't want to follow directions:)

what a view

Mike took this picture of me this morning outside Elise's preschool (she starts next week)

up close it's actually quite awe-inspiring...

Elise's first haircut

I know you are probably thinking "really!?" but no, she has never had a haircut. Most of this has to do with my reluctance to snip away any beautiful blonde locks. We decided it was time and had the best intentions to have her get a little french girl "bob" but mom wussed out (as Mike put it) in the eleventh hour and all we did was 2 inches. She was perfectly behaved but quite serious during the haircut; one might even say she was pensive. The name of the establishment is called The Yellow Balloon and shocker: they get a yellow balloon when they are finished! She also went for a spin in one of those silly little cars.

Later in the day I discovered my two favorite people doing this:

yellow roses and habanero peppers

Mike caught Holly snipping the full blooms off our rose bush in the back:

Dorky picture of me with said bloom but isn't it so pretty:

He also caught me picking the habanero peppers from our little plant which I will turn into salsa at some point this weekend:

Holly is soon to be the proud owner of a Macbook Pro...and she is dang excited.

Last night I spent some time in the Apple store building my new beauty and I'm ordering it today:-)
