my latest obsessions...

Things that take up Holly's time: Cooking, Facebook, the Virgins, x-mas shopping, iced coffee from Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, lava cakes from Trader Joes (not too many though-wouldn't be good for the figure). I have recently been interested in, perhaps, going to cooking school at some point. I never thought myself a chef until recently. Throughout my adult life I have contributed an ample amount of time to decadent food and drink but usually on the receiving end. Over the last year or so I have realized I can actually cook and that I enjoy it more than almost anything else I do. I have wanted for some time to go back to school but never thought about it involving food-so we'll see what happens. In other news, Mike is working offensive hours so I'm really glad I have made some stellar friends here:-)

That is awesome! My husband has just decided that he wants to become a better cook and really start contributing ti family meals now that there will be a little one on the way, which is a huge plus for me. He made a pumpkin pie last week!

mmm pumpkin pie. I make pumpkin pie from scratch every year as well as apple for mike. I have perfected a pie crust recipe that is so delicious. We have also been into various pot pies-I do the crust and mike helps with the insides. It's like tag team cooking-we made a lobster pot pie for Fran and Pat when they visited us and it was delightful. I think they liked it:-)

Holly, that's great! I am a little jealous because cooking used to be my favorite hobby, but since having a child, it has felt more like a chore. I can say that going back to school is lots of fun. You should definitely do it!

And yes, that lobster pot pie you made was one of the best things I've ever eaten. I'm not even exaggerating. I wish I could make a pie crust that tastes like yours!

Aww..that's so nice Fran. Yes, I'm really excited about it. I'm taking a few classes next month and in the winter and we'll see how it goes. I'm glad you liked that dish. I'm hoping to create some more interesting dishes...It means alot to hear you liked that crust because I have always thought you make the most delightful food:-)
